Finnish rock band The Rasmus was formed 30 years ago and is led by founder, frontman, and songwriter Lauri Ylönen. The group signed a major label deal soon after releasing their first EP in 1995. Their fifth studio album, Dead Letters, cemented their place on the global music scene — earning 8 gold and 6 platinum certifications, selling over 2 million copies worldwide, and setting a record for international royalties for a Finnish composition. The hit single “In The Shadows” went on to achieve 6 gold and 2 platinum certifications, selling over one million copies and earning a Kerrang! Award nomination for Best Single in 2004. The album also swept five categories at the 2004 EMMA Awards, earned The Rasmus the title of Best Nordic Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2003, and brought them two MTV Russia Music Awards in 2004 for Best International Artist and Best International Debut.

Since then, The Rasmus have continued to evolve their sound — masterfully blending melody, edge, and spectacle. Their music moves effortlessly between genres, from mainstream pop and electronic tones to explosive rock and heavy metal energy. The band is thrilled to announce that their upcoming single “Rest In Pieces” will be released on October 25th. This heavy, dark, and melodic track sets the tone for their forthcoming album and marks the beginning of a new partnership with leading independent label Better Noise Music, who will release the new material together with Nordic indie label Playground Music.

To celebrate, The Rasmus are hitting the road for a world tour, and today — October 21st — they’ve announced the European leg of the Weirdo Tour, which will run from September 12th to December 6th, 2025.

“It’s been a while since we’ve been on tour, so we’re really excited to hit the road again in 2025,” says vocalist Lauri Ylönen. “It’s going to be a massive tour, and more dates will be announced soon. We can’t wait to meet our fans — it’ll be amazing to see everyone again; it feels like family.”
