Tamino's third album, “Every Dawn’s a Mountain,” will be released on March 21, 2025, as the successor to the well-received “Sahar” (2022) and his debut, “Amir” (2018). Written primarily in his new home in New York, it symbolizes a new beginning for the artist, who is already playing numerous arenas in Europe and Western Asia and was recently invited to perform at the Pyramid of Cheops. His songs and stories have stunned his many friends and fans, including David Byrne, Lana Del Rey, Mitski, and Colin Greenwood of Radiohead.
Although Tamino was first inspired to pick up the guitar by his grandfather—the famous Egyptian singer Muharram Fouad—the arrangements on the new album are based primarily on the sounds of the Arabic oud, considered the ancestor of the lute. Tamino's voice is constantly warmed up, instantly shifting between a trembling falsetto and deep sensuality. "Music as a vehicle for deeper meaning is key to Tamino's work," writes The Guardian. "As such, many compare him to the late American artist Jeff Buckley, though he is distinguished by orchestral arrangements that pay homage to his Arab heritage."
