On his third album, “The End” BMG, Wolfgang expands his signature style and visionary approach. “I’m constantly striving to be my own, unique artist, even though my last name naturally invites comparisons,” he says. “I’m proud of this record because it shows tremendous growth on every level.”
Mammoth WVH’s self-titled debut (2021) reached #12 on the Billboard 200 and hit #1 on three separate Billboard charts. The single “Distance” earned a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Rock Song. The follow-up album Mammoth II (2023) cemented the band’s status, earning praise from Rolling Stone, Guitar World, and KERRANG!. The group has supported Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Creed, headlined sold-out shows, and appeared on NBC’s TODAY, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, and at the MusiCares Person of the Year 2024 gala.
During the recording of The End, Wolfgang moved away from digital demos, opting instead for live-in-studio sessions at 5150 Studios with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette. The result captures raw energy and intensity, heard in the title track “The End” and songs like “The Spell”, “Same Old Song”, and “Selfish” — each showcasing his technical mastery while preserving melodic sensitivity and rock authenticity.
The album’s visual identity is anchored by Moon Patrol’s striking cover artwork featuring a burning figure, while the video for “The End” was created in collaboration with legendary filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and special effects artist Greg Nicotero, featuring appearances by Danny Trejo, Slash, Myles Kennedy, and Wolfgang’s mother, Valerie Bertinelli.
“‘The End’ represents the moment we fully embrace the name ‘Mammoth.’ It’s our rebirth,” says Wolfgang Van Halen. “This music is how I process emotion — and how I bring joy to others. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted to do.”
