A thrash metal legend for 2 concerts in Poland! Dark Angel will perform their cult album “Darkness Descends” in its entirety, new songs from the upcoming “Extinction Level Event,” and other hits from their catalog on August 4th at Zaklęte Rewiry in Wrocław and the next day at Proxima in Warsaw. They will be accompanied by Species at both concerts, while the evenings in Wrocław and Warsaw will be opened by Leprozorium and R.I.P. respectively.
Dark Angel debuted in 1985 with the album “We Have Arrived,” but it was with “Darkness Descends,” released a year later, that they inscribed themselves in the chronicles of metal. The material, which at the time of its release stood out for its unprecedented aggression, is now regarded as one of the most influential albums for death metal. After the release of their fourth, more technical and progressive album “Time Does Not Heal” in 1991, the band went on hiatus and has since reactivated twice—in 2002 and 2013. The current lineup consists of Gene Hoglan, the legendary drummer also known from Death, Testament, and Strapping Young Lad; guitarist Erik Meyer; vocalist Ron Rinehart; bassist Mike Gonzalez; and two years ago, guitarist Laura Christine, Hoglan’s wife, joined them. With this lineup, Dark Angel recorded their first album in 34 years, “Extinction Level Event,” which will see the light of day in the second half of this year. Before that, the Americans will play 2 concerts in Poland that metal fans simply cannot miss!
Species
Species is a trio from Warsaw that combines thrash metal and progressive rock. In 2022, they released their debut album “To Find Deliverance,” which was warmly received both at home and abroad. In May, the band joined the ranks of the American label 20 Buck Spin, under whose wings their second album will be released.
Leprozorium
In Leprosy We Trust - this is the motto used by the members of the death/thrash Leprozorium, whose inspirations reach back to the best years of old-school giants. Raw? Technical? Or maybe a pinch of grindcore? Find out what awaits you…
R.I.P.
R.I.P. is thrash metal with a mix of death and despair, played with a passion worthy of the '80s, but tainted with modern anxiety. It’s a retro-futuristic explosion of sound, whose core consists of original compositions created by Gambit—known earlier from Truchło Strzygi. Gambit is on vocals, Chała on bass, Hagrid rules the drums, and the whole is cut through by Pongi's riffs and Zuby's lead parts. Fast, dirty, furious. The authentic ancient fire that burned in KAT, Kreator, Sadus, and Sodom. R.I.P. summons the spirits of the past to sow destruction in the 21st century.
