BANKS: From Goddess to Off With Her Head

California-born singer and songwriter Jillian Rose Banks, known as BANKS, creates moody, atmospheric alt-pop infused with contemporary R&B. She first emerged in the early 2010s with her debut album Goddess, establishing a dark, distinctive downtempo alt-R&B sound that won her a loyal and diverse audience. The gold-certified and critically acclaimed album reached high positions on the Billboard 200 and featured standout tracks such as “Before I Ever Met You”, “Warm Water”, and “Fall Over”.

Her long-awaited sophomore album The Altar arrived in 2016, featuring singles “Fuck with Myself”, “Gemini Feed”, and “Mind Games”, and climbed to No. 17 on the Billboard 200. BANKS returned with her third studio record III in 2019, followed by Serpentina in 2022 – written during the isolation of the pandemic and centered around themes of shedding an old self and embracing transformation.

In 2024, BANKS celebrated the 10th anniversary of Goddess with an acoustic reimagining, Goddess: Unplugged, and a sold-out world tour across four continents, where she previewed songs from her upcoming fifth album Off With Her Head, sparking huge anticipation among her fans.
